TPG Fibre Optic Network

The ongoing contract includes site survey, horizontal drill, civil excavation, pit and pipe installation, cable hauling, in-building installation, fibre splicing and testing, and traffic control.

NBN Fibre to the Node

The ongoing contract includes civil excavation, cable hauling, copper jointing, and commissioning.

Vocus Fibre Network Expansion

The ongoing contract includes site survey, horizontal drill, civil excavation, pit and pipe installation, cable hauling, in-building installation, fibre splicing and testing, and traffic control.

Optilinx Macquarie Park

The ongoing contract works include new lead-in for a data centre, 51 way lead-in at depths of up to 4.5m deep, and 3 new manholes constructed.

Electrical Projects

Ford Civil Contracting Green Square Redevelopment Infrastructure

August 2019 to December 2020


Twin Connect recently commenced the Green Square Redevelopment ASP1, street lighting, NBN and traffic control signals package for our client Ford Civil Contracting. This work will help service the new aquatic centre, playing field and park that are currently under construction. Our crews have started with the Ausgrid HV conduit installation and will begin on the street lighting, NBN and traffic signal portions. This project will be ongoing for several months, with Twin Connect having a strong presence over the course of the project.

CA&I Thomas Street Public Domain Improvement

The contract works include installation of trenching and backfill, underground conduits, street light footings, and smart pole with luminaires.

CA&I Ashfield Town Centre Upgrade

The contract works include council streetscape works and Ausgrid asset relocation.

CPB West Connex

The contract works include Ausgrid asset upgrade and relocation.

CA&I Bourke Street

The contract works include Ausgrid ariel work.

Case Study 1:

Ford Civil Contracting Green Square Zetland Smartpole Installation and Commissioning

July 2018 to June 2019
Project Value: $609,285
Project Location: Paul St, Zetland

Project Overview: Twin Connect were selected by Ford Civil to deliver the Ausgrid Level 1 certified package, NBN scope of works and council lighting works, on behalf of the City of Sydney at Green Square, Zetland.

Project Requirements: This project consisted of the installation of Ausgrid HV and LV works, requiring conduit and cable hauling and jointing works. Additional works were required for the installation of smart poles, installation of footings and cable terminations.

Challenges with the Project: Conducting works around other contractors onsite required meticulous planning to ensure works were carried out safely. Twin Connect sequenced their works alongside other contractors and completed the works on time, within budget and with minimal impact to other contractors onsite.

Notable Achievements: A number of contractors on site noted and appreciated Twin Connect’s willingness to work together on the overall Project plan, resulting in an efficient execution for not only Twin Connect’s work crews, but to the selection of contractors onsite.

Chris Edwards - Project Manager: Chris was the Project Manager for the duration of this project, with an emphasis on working with onsite contractors to minimise issues. Due to his success with this project, Twin Connect has been selected for additional projects surrounding these works awarded from Ford Civil.

Ben McDiarmid - Project Supervisor: Ben was the Project Supervisor for this project, with a particular focus on safety whilst working around existing contractors.

Case Study 2:

Ford Civil Contracting Joynton Ave Council Street Lighting and NBN Works

October 2019 – ongoing
Project Value: $1,723,822
Project Location: Joynton Ave, Zetland

Project Overview: Twin Connect were selected by Ford Civil to deliver the Ausgrid Level 1 package, smartpole installation and NBN scope of works, on behalf of the City of Sydney at Joynton Ave, Zetland.

Project Requirements: This project consisted of the installation of Ausgrid HV and LV works, requiring conduit and cable hauling and jointing works. Additional works were required for the installation of smart poles, installation of footings and cable terminations. Further works to the original scope were the supply and installation of two new Traffic signal intersections, of which Twin Connect carried out alongside the current work package.

Challenges with the Project: Despite the intricate works being carried out through a busy thoroughfare, Twin Connect rose to the challenge and excelled in safely completing the works on time, within budget and with a minimum of disruption to the surrounding businesses and residents.

Notable Achievements: Feedback from the surrounding community was very positive, highlighting Twin Connect’s attentiveness to the community and residents’ concerns. Most notably, Louis and his crew drew praise for their organisation of the worksite, ensuring the site was safe, clean and well organised at all times.

Due to his success with this project, Twin Connect has been selected for additional projects surrounding these works awarded from Ford Civil.
